Scalp pigmentation and hair vitalization

Hair plays an important role in the beauty and external appearance of everybody. Light spots or fine hair on the head are a common cause of lowered self-esteem in both men and women.

Scalp pigmentation can therefore help to you achieve a new quality of life. It is also suitable for patients for whom hair transplantation is not an option. The treatment makes the hair look thicker. Light areas are concealed. Even in the case of complete baldness, the impression of a “shaved look” can be created.

One can combine the treatment with other solutions that prevent hair loss. Especially recommended in this case is hair vitalization (“Derma-SR method”), which helps to activate inactive hair follicles.

In addition to the formation of new proteins, which are essential for the follicles, the blood circulation and nutrient supply of the follicles in the skin are promoted. Inactive follicles are thus reactivated and new hair growth is stimulated. In principle, this largely stops further hair loss and supports hair growth overall.

Often hair stops growing because the hair root is “asleep”, that is, encapsulated and resting inactive in the scalp. Stimulation with the “Derma-SR method” and the special serum can stimulate the hair growth process again and “wake up” the hair.

Scalp pigmentation procedure:
· Consultation appointment
· In case of complete baldness: Measuring and marking the front line for the “shaved look”
· Pigmentation (Tiny dots or short hairs are pigmented on the scalp. This creates an optical hair thickening. )
· Checking and follow-up treatment after 4-6 weeks.

Hair vitalization procedure:
· Consultation appointment
· Creation of a treatment plan individually tailored to your skin type
· Microneedling with serum

Ideally, the treatment is repeated every 2-4 weeks until a light fluff is visible. The progress of the treatment can vary and must be observed individually.

The newly grown hair looks like a light blond down. But this falls out again and is then replaced by thicker darker hair. To support the process, apply an aftercare product at home. Daily use will continuously stimulate hair growth.

Result of hair vitalization:
· Causes stagnation of hair loss after only a few treatments
· Constantly stimulates hair growth by activating inactive hair roots
· Leads to new hair strands, which initially cover the thinning areas as light, blond down before thicker hairs come through
· Supports the resilience of existing hairs, thus ensuring the increase of hair thickness in general

Scalp pigmentation results:
· Visually rejuvenates by simulating a front, side and/or back hairline
· Permanently camouflages and improves symptoms of alopecia
· Conceals scars from previous hair transplants, burns and moles.
· Creates a “shaved look” for partial or complete baldness
· Enhances the visual impact of a hair transplant
· Does not interfere with the body’s ability to regenerate follicles, such as when stress has been relieved and body function has returned to normal
· Suitable for all ages, skin types and hair colors (except light blonde)
· Lasts approx. 1-2 years, so that in the event of a decision against pigmentation, no long-term consequences disturb the desired appearance.

Frequent questions and answers:

Is the treatment painful?

Sensitivity to pain varies greatly from person to person, depending on age as well as skin type. During their period, women can be more sensitive to pain. As a rule, the sensitivity of the skin decreases with age. In addition, micropigmentation on the scalp may not be performed very deeply, so anesthesia is usually not necessary.

Nevertheless, to make the treatment as comfortable as possible, an anesthetic ointment can be used, which is applied 30 minutes beforehand.

How long does a treatment take?

The duration of the treatment depends on how large the area to be treated is.

Scalp pigmentation is basically time-consuming. A circle of about 5 cm in diameter usually takes 1-2 hours. The whole head takes several hours.

Hair vitalization treatment lasts 30-60 minutes depending on the size of the area.

How many treatments are necessary?

Scalp pigmentation usually requires 2 sessions, possibly a third. The interval between sessions is between 4-6 weeks.

Hair vitalization is ideally repeated every 2-4 weeks. The progress of the treatment may vary and must be observed individually. As a rule, it is recommended to plan for a total treatment time of 2-3 months.

How long does the result last?

The color pigments last about 1-2 years, after which the color slowly fades.

It can take a few years for complete fading to occur.

Definitive time specifications in terms of how long the treatment will last are not possible.

This is influenced by many factors that are individual to each person. These include skin texture (dry or oily), metabolism, habits such as regular visits to saunas and solariums, extensive sunbathing or sweaty sports, and peelings.

To maintain a perfect color result, a touch-up is recommended after one year.

You can enjoy the regrown hair after hair vitalization for a longer time.

What is the cost of scalp hair pigmentation/hair vitalization?

The cost is calculated individually, depending on the size of the area to be processed. Therefore, a price can be determined only after the consultation.

What should be considered before pigmentation/hair vitalization?

You should be of legal age and healthy at the time of treatment and should not have consumed alcohol, drugs or stimulants. Coffee should be avoided 2 hours before the treatment.

Taking medications such as aspirin or other blood thinners (e.g. Arnica globules) should be avoided on the day of treatment.

If any of the following apply, please consult your doctor beforehand:

Are you HIV-infected, diabetic, hemophiliac, cancer patient or allergic? Do you use laser/chemical peels? Do you use a Retin A/peel treatment? Are you pregnant or currently breastfeeding? Do you have a pacemaker? Do you suffer from acute herpes simplex (cold sores), skin irritations/skin disorders, immune deficiency or autoimmune diseases?

Scalp pigmentation:

Please do not wash your hair or use styling products one day before the treatment.

If you dye your hair, there should be 10 days between the dyeing and the treatment.

You do not need to cut your hair before the treatment. Just come with the length of hair that you want to wear later. If the thinning areas are already 50% of the scalp, it is recommended to shave the remaining hair in the future, so that the difference with the pigmented areas is not visible.

Hair vitalization:

Please come to the treatment with freshly washed hair.

What should be considered after pigmentation/hair vitalization?

Scalp pigmentation:

For the first 2 days after treatment, the scalp should not be touched to minimize the risk of infection. Washing the hair or using care products such as hair fixatives or hair sprays should be completely avoided. On the 3rd day after treatment, you may wash your hair with a mild shampoo (low-foaming baby shampoo or shampoo from the pharmacy). The water should be lukewarm. Blow dry only at low heat.

You may only dye your hair again after 6 weeks.

For 1-2 weeks after the treatment you should avoid direct sun and solarium. Sauna, swimming pool or sweat-causing sports are also taboo.

Generally, scalp pigmentation is recommended during the months when the sun is low.

Hair vitalization:

For best results, we recommend avoiding chemicals during the entire treatment period! (Hair spray, fixing powder, dry shampoo, hair gel, wax, etc.) Avoid touching the scalp after treatment to minimize the risk of infection (no hair brushing for at least 2 days). Wash your hair no earlier than the third day after treatment and use only a mild shampoo (see below) throughout the treatment period. The water should be lukewarm. Blow dry only at low heat.

Protect your scalp from direct sunlight. After the second day, Hair Vitalizer (Homecare) should be used once a day.
